About

Kim Bauters, born in 1984, is a male computer science student living in Belgium. After spending a rough six years in secondary school where he followed courses ranging from languages over accountancy to chemistry, he finally chose to pursue his greatest hobby and talent; computer science.

In the Katho, a school for higher education located in Kortrijk, the true adventure into the world of computer science started. Three years later, he graduated and obtained his bachelor degree for applied computer science as first of class. He and Karon Pante also got rewarded for the best thesis with their work on a .NET planner they developed for the AZ Sint-Jan hospital in Brugge.

After these three years, he found himself still hungry for knowledge and continued his education at the Free University of Brussels, the VUB. Instead of pursuing the field of applied computer science, he decided to go for master in computer science, which is a more theoretically oriented profile. In the school year 2008-2009 he will start his last year and the thesis subject has been settled on extending answer set programming.

Overall, he has a wide field of interests. Programming languages, logic, artificial intelligence, user interfaces and operating systems are just to name a few in the field of computer science. Furthermore, he is an avid board gamer, gadgeteer, dog lover and food (cooking) enthusiast.
